Knowing which type of open back banjo to choose can be a difficult task, so a range of sound files using different types of open back banjos are available to compare sounds.

The sound files are a range of styles and use a range of playing techniques. All recordings are made on a laptop using free software and a mid-range USB plug-in microphone. All recording settings are exactly the same, with Reverb set on 1.0  (out of 10) and Ambience set on 0.75 (out of 10).
