A Traditional song format where the male viewpoint is the chorus (men do repeat themselves!) and the verse is the female viewpoint, (much more reasoned , worldly wise and philosophical - so a nod to early feminism). Women used to weave strings of pearls, jewels etc into their hair as a way of carrying and showing wealth. The song therefore emphasises that the most precious and treasured gift a woman possesses and can choose to share is her friendship. Miyo
Sample played as an instrumental, so a faster tempo than if it were sung . Played on Chuck Lee Prairieville #211
Played on Chuck Lee Chalk Mountain Tubaphone #278
